Due to the Highway Agency’s decision to put in place a road closure on the A483 through Pant during the Olympic Torch Relay, Powys County Council have been forced to put a diversion around Llanymynech from the A483 Mardy Bridge junction, south of Four Crosses, along the B4393 via Shrewsbury towards Oswestry.
This will mean there will be a road closure in operation from 9.30am until after the Relay has passed through the village. Anyone who wishes to attend the Llanymynech stage of the Relay is urged to arrive an hour before the scheduled arrive time of 10.30am.
Buses taking schools to the event are asked to put a sign in their front window indicating that they are attending the Relay.
