Learning in the Community Programme Board
On 16th March 2010 the Authority’s Board supported the establishment of a Learning in the Community Programme Board. The Programme Board will be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction of the ‘Learning in the Community’ Modernisation agenda; setting direction, implementing change, monitoring progress and reporting to the Authority’s Board in respect of its Strategic Programme Management role.
The Programme Board held its inaugural meeting on Tuesday 13th April 2010. At the meeting it was unanimously agreed to publish minutes from meetings as soon as possible after meetings. If you click on the link below you will be able to view the minutes:

Leisure Modernisation
On the 4th October 2011 the Council's Cabinet approved a decision for the Learning and Community Programme Board (LICPB) to operate a dual meeting process in order to more effectively manage its business and the time frame for decision making in relation to learning and leisure. Schools Modernisation continues to be managed through the Programme Board structure established in 2010.
Leisure Modernisation will be managed by a separate meeting of the Programme Board with consistent member representation but amended officer involvement relevant to the Active and Healthy Lives (Leisure)Strategy Development. The objective of Leisure Modernisation being to develop a strategy that supports Powys residents to live active and healthy lives by increasing physical activity and participation in sports whilst reducing the capital and revenue repairs deficit in Leisure Centres and developing a sustainable service delivery model.
