Local Resource Solution Panels across the six areas in Powys are an essential part of infrastructure development. The core function of the panel is to achieve good outcomes for children in the community. There will be a strong 'prevention and early intervention' focus.
The objective of the panels is to help achieve better outcomes for children and young people in Powys. They provide professionals working with families – especially those in the universal health, education and community services - with better access to expertise and targeted family support resources
To ensure multi-agency contributions using skills, knowledge and expertise from a variety of services for the benefit of children, young people and their families.
To ensure a shared responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of children within Powys by providing a service appropriate to those needs by facilitating the provision of local services.
To strengthen and scrutinise existing planning arrangements and ensure a joint commitment to high quality services.
To ensure management input across the partner agencies.
To ensure a collective responsibility to work together to develop the widest possible range of local services that are child and family centred through flexible and innovative ways of working.
To ensure a focus on early interventions that is seamless and timely.
To ensure that plans are solution and outcome focused
To enhance local partnership working across locally developed networks.
To set up supportive systems for colleagues in the field to ensure they can effectively provide for children, young people and families in need.
To ensure all local alternative solutions have been explored prior to the case being presented to the MAAP.
