Property and Assets

We are responsible for managing a wide range of properties across the county. These include schools, council offices, farm estates, leisure centres and libraries.

We also have a substantial portfolio of property, land and sites to suit many business and individual needs. These pages provide information about council land and property availability, farms estate management, building maintenance arrangements, and local land charges.

Property is a valuable resource that directly impacts on the performance of a wide range of local authority services.  The way the council uses and manages assets is central to its ability to support Best Value Service delivery.  A building fit for purpose, in the right direction for users, can make all the difference between a good and a poor service.

Our aim is to maximise the productive use of the council's land and property for the benefit of the council and its citizens and to review the council's property assets, developing a strategy to ensure that maximum benefits are received by the council.
