Fees for Registration Services

COPY CERTIFICATES

from 01 April 2012 the statutory fees are as follows

Birth, Death and Marriage certificates at time of Registration               £4.00*

Certificates issued one week after initial Registration                          £7.00*

Certificates issued after the Register has been closed                         £10.00*

FAMILY HISTORY CERTIFICATES

Historic birth, death and marriage certificates                                     £10.00*

* these fees are statutory fees. 

There is an additional £1.00 administration fee for the issue and postage of certificates.   

Your certificate will be produced within 5 working days.  We do offer the following service should you require your certificate sooner:

• Special delivery 9.00am                                                             £25.00
• Next day delivery                                                                       £20.00
• Recorded delivery                                                                      £15.00

(inclusive of cost of certificate)

Please note that these services are only available if the certificate is ordered and paid for before 1.00 p.m. and accurate information is provided to locate the record.

MARRIAGE AND CIVIL PARTNERSHIPS

Marriage/Civil Partnership at the Register Office                                   £45.00*

(Weddings at the statutory fee can take place at the Powys Register Office, Llandrindod Wells, Neuadd Brycheiniog in Brecon, Neuadd Maldwyn in Welshpool, The Park Offices in Newtown, The Library in Ystradgynlais, the Hay Registration Office in Hay on Wye and in the Registration Office at Y Plas, Machynlleth.  Please be aware that the accommodation at these venues is limited.  The statutory wedding rooms are not available on Sundays and Bank Holidays)

FEES FOR REGISTRARS TO ATTEND PREMISES LICENSED FOR CIVIL MARRIAGES AND CIVIL PARTNERSHIPS

From 01 April 2013 the fees are:

Monday - Friday                                                                                    £265.00+

Sunday/Bank Holidays                                                                          £335.00+

Attendance at a Registered Building (eg Chapel)                                    £84.00*

Booking fee:

From 08 April 2013 a non refundable booking fee of £20.00 will be payable for each ceremony booked with the Powys Registration Service.  If a ceremony is booked and then changed, but the ceremony will still take place in Powys, no additional fee is payable. 

LICENSING OF APPROVED VENUES TO HOLD CIVIL CEREMONIES

Initial licence, valid for 3 years from date of issue                                £750.00+

Addition of extra room to existing licence                                             £100.00+

Addition of outside structure/gazebo within grounds of existing licensed premises                                                                                            £100.00+

FEES FOR CIVIL NAMING CEREMONIES AND RE-AFFIRMATION OF VOWS/COMMITMENT CEREMONIES

Monday - Friday                        £160.00 plus VAT at the prevailing rate +

Saturday                                   £180.00 plus VAT at the prevailing rate+

Sunday/Bank Holidays              £200.00 plus VAT at the prevailing rate+

A non refundable fee of £25.00 is payable when booking these ceremonies

A Powys County Council trained Celebrant will attend these ceremonies only where they are held at an approved premises for Civil Ceremonies.  In this case they are acting as Celebrants and not as Registration Officers

+ these fees are set by Powys Registration Service and are reviewed annually.
