Are you going to become a parent? Becoming a parent can be a very emotional experience. Emotions will differ depending on individual circumstances. Being a parent with the responsibility of bringing up a baby on your own can be quite frightening. You are not alone as there is a lot of help and support available.
Early Days
Midwives and health visitors can be very helpful in the early days if you have any queries or problems. Midwives will visit you in the first couple of weeks to check on the health of mother and baby, and do routine tests, such as hearing. They will help mothers establish feeding, whether bottle or breast. Health visitors will then monitor the child’s growth and development up until they go to school.
