Michelle Paver

Michelle Paver was an author of novels for adults when she had a wonderful idea for a series of childrens books. This idea together with her memories of walking in ancient forest lead to the Chronicles of Ancient Darkness set in the ancient times of our Stone Age ancestors.  The books brilliantly recreate a magical, unfamilar world in which people just like us have to learn new skills to survive.

Anthony Browne

Anthony Browne

The picture books of Anthony Browne are loved by children everywhere (and Mums and Dads!) Although they are full of weird and wonderful characters the stories are usually about things that children can relate to. There are stories about bullying, stories about being shy or being the youngest child. Most of all they are great fun, with a unique charm.
