Education is a vital part of everyones life. Many people go through stages where learning is difficult. It may be due to worries outside school or problems with other pupils such as bullying or even a problem with a teacher.
Whatever the reason, don't try to keep it all to yourself. Talk to your friends, parents, teachers or youth worker about it. Sometimes just talking a problem through is enough but other times the help of someone who is used to helping people cope with various problems is invaluable.
It is often easier to talk if you know no - one else will be told ... in other words if it will be kept confidential. Most professionals know the value of this but there are rules so you should be sure to ask about it first. Some schools and colleges have their own counsellors. All secondary schools have special teachers or a school nurse you can talk to. If you like they can arrange for you to see a counsellor who will be understanding and able to help.
If you feel too frightened or unable to talk to anyone you know, phone one of the following....
