Please find below some general information which may be of help to you.
Peak and Off Peak Times
- Peak Times Monday - Friday after 4.00pm and all day Saturday and Sunday
- Off Peak Times Monday - Friday 6.45am - 4.00pm (excluding Bank Holidays)
Lockers
- Clothes lockers are located in the changing rooms and you will need 20p (non-refundable).
Bookings and Cancellations
There are two ways which you can book our facilities.
Casual Bookings
- Casual Bookings can be made up to 6 days in advance either in person or by telephone.
- This applies to fitness classes such as Circuit Training and Body Conditioning; Squash Courts; Badminton Courts; Ten Pin Bowling etc.
- You will be asked for your membership card number for all bookings; with Ten Pin Bowling being the only exception.
- Please note that if you cancel your booking within 24 hours of the booking time you will be charged in full.
- Non attendance will result in the person who booked the facility being liable for that arrear on their next visit.
All Other Bookings
- All other bookings can be made on completion of a Booking Form.
- Your booking is not secure until you have received confirmation from us.

Brecon Leisure Centre reserves the right to cancel a customer booking. In the unlikely event of us having to do so a full refund will be given.

Poolside Rules for Bathers
- No running on poolside
- No fighting, bullying, ducking, pushing or throwing other bathers into the pool
- No face masks, flippers or snorkels to be used during general public sessions
- No eating or drinking on the poolside
- No outdoor footwear permitted on the poolside.
- No spectators permitted on the poolside including swimming lessons, unless authorised by the swim-coordinator
- No smoking
- Non-swimmers and weak swimmers must remain in the areas of the pool indicated by the signs on poolside.
- Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied in the water by an adult (see child admission policy for full details)
- Accompanying adults must not leave children under the age of 8 unattended or beyond eye contact
- Diving is not permitted into depths of less than 1.5 metres and then only shallow racing dives are allowed.
- No jumping onto floats, rafts or inflatables from poolside
- No toys, inflatables or balls permitted in the main pool during public sessions
- All bathers MUST have correct swimwear. (No calf length shorts, No underwear, No t-shirts)
- The Lifeguards instruction should always be followed.
Swimming Group Admission Procedures
The following procedures are to be followed at all times when groups of 10 or more bathers enter the swimming pool.
- Number of group booking bathers must not exceed 40 in total at any one time.
- Swimming declaration form to be completed and signed by the instructor / group leader at Reception prior to entering the pool.
- All bathers MUST have correct swimwear. (No calf length shorts, No underwear, No t-shirts)
- All groups after changing, will be briefed on poolside regulations prior to entering the water.
- Non and weak swimmers must remain in the shallow end and within their comfortable standing depth at all times. Group leaders must accompany any individuals that can not stand in the shallow end or if they are in any doubt that, for whatever reason, the individual will not adhere to the pool rules.
- On no account must any member of the group enter the water via the deep end on their initial entry.
- Group leader / instructor to be seated on pool balcony / spectator area and be clearly visible to staff at all times. However, when there are young non-swimmers (under 11 years) in the group the leader must enter the water and be responsible for them at all times.
- No jumping or diving will take place within the swimming pool when bather capacity reaches 50%.
Fitness Suite Rules
- Correct footwear to be worn at all times
- Appropriate clothing is required e.g. shorts, t-shirts. No Bare Chest Training
- No food to be consumed in the Fitness Suite
- At busy periods Session duration is 1 hour maximum
- Only authorised users to use the facilities.
Sports Halls
Squash Courts
- It is essential that all squash players wear non-marking footwear.
- Any person under 18 years must wear eye protectors. Available from Reception.
Green Bowls
- All bowlers must wear appropriate footwear.
Food and Drink
- No food can be brought into the centre except for Birthday Cakes.
- Alcohol may only be consumed in the Bar Area (unless with prior permission of Management).
Photography Policy
- Before using any photographic equipment it is essential that you obtain prior permission. You will need to complete the Photographic Information Form at Reception. On approval you will be issued with a photography pass. This is to be worn at all times during your visit.
Mobile Phone Policy
- For reasons of Child Protection, the use of mobile phones is not allowed inside Brecon Leisure Centre.
