European Affairs and External Funding Programmes are managed by the European and External Funding Unit of the Regeneration & Development Service.
The Unit provides information and support services on European, Lottery and domestic funds to the Council as well as to stakeholders and organisations in Powys. The Unit also monitors relevant European policies and provides information and lobbying services to the Council.
The Unit is part of the Specialist European Teams (SETs). The SETs provide guidance and information on the European Structural Funds, including how to apply, project development and after-care. For more information on SETs, please click here.

WCVA’s third sector European team (3-SET) delivers a suite of training courses designed to build your knowledge, skills and confidence for managing an EU funded project or contract.
The Erasmus programme is intended to support activities in education, training, youth and sport in all sectors of lifelong learning (Higher Education, Further Education, adult education, schools and youth activities). By bringing together a range of different programmes and initiatives the European Commission hopes to make their funding programme more efficient and more accessible.
Erasmus+ will fund three Key Actions:
