National Exercise Referral Scheme

Need support and encouragement to exercise?

The National Exercise Referral Scheme is designed to help inactive adults who are at risk of poor health or have a pre-existing condition to become more active.

This scheme gives you the opportunity to improve your level of physical activity, with like minded people.

If you are inactive and suffer from at least one of the following conditions: (medical criteria do apply)

  • Overweight
  • Raised Blood Pressure
  • Raised Cholestrol
  • Controlled Diabetes
  • Arthritis
  • Anxiety
  • Stress
  • Depression
  • CHD Risk Factors

You could undertake a structured, fully supervised activity session, at a level to suit you.  This would involve a referral from your General Practitioner, a commitment to attend twice a week for 16 weeks, 3 consultations and 2 fitness assessments.

If you want to make physical activity a regular part of your weekly lifestyle, then the scheme could help you achieve this.

Please contact Reception for further information or speak with your General Practitioner or Practice Nurse for referral.
