Road Closures and Diversions

Temporary Road Closure Orders are made by Powys County Council where streetworks or events necessitate the closure of a County road for safety reasons.

What does it involve?

An Order requires a minimum of 10 weeks to process and includes a mandatory requirement for advertising in the local press and on site. The cost for the Order making process is charged to the applicant in the form of a standard charge.  The current charges are:

• Streetworks Road Closure        £750
• Event Road Closure                  £260*

*The event Order charge is reduced to £130 for a repeat order
