School Uniform Grants

A School Uniform Grant is available for pupils who are eligible for free school meals and are entering Year 7 at high school or who are attending a special school, special needs resource base or pupil referral unit and are aged 11 at the start of the school year.

For the 2010-11 school year a grant of £105.00 per eligible child is available.  Eligible pupils are identified from existing free school meals records.  Once authorised for free school meals, the Authority will confirm eligibility for a school uniform grant with individual parents/carers.

For those parents/carers who do not fall within the above category, an application form and further information is available from the Schools Service at County Hall, Llandrindod, or the Newtown or Brecon Area Offices.  Alternatively you can enter your details into the box on the right to request a form.

Application forms for a grant and further information are also available to download below.

Parents/carers of pupils transferring to schools outside Powys should apply to the authority that maintains the school.
