Policy
The policy position being adopted by Powys County Council is that the decision to close a school should be taken by the headteacher and chair of governors based on local conditions with the health and safety of pupils and staff being the major consideration.
The Council will not be taking a decision to close all schools but do reserve the right to suspend school transport through discussion with transport contractors. Again this decision will be based on health and safety grounds.
