
250 Spinners packed out the Flash leisure Centre on Sunday 12th February for the 3rd annual spinathon event run by the centre to raise money for charity. For the last 2 yrs the spinathon has been a hugh success raising thousands of pounds for charity and 2012 was no different raising £4000 for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
The Event which ran over 4hrs comprised of 110 bikes with each bike costing a donation of £30. The session was taken by 8 instructors from the flash and others centres across Powys who each take a 30 min set.
The event was started by Welsh TV presenter Lolo Williams before he jumped onto his bike.

The Flash Leisure Centre Hosted a 4 hr spinathon event on Sunday 7th February to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Teams of up to 4 people took part on 65 spinning bikes in the sports hall. Instructors from the Flash and Maldwyn Leisure Centres kept peoples spirits high, entertaining those taking part with varied music routines.
This has been the largest spinning event to be held in the county.
The spinathon has been organised by Welshpool FireFighters, who are also looking to do the 3 Peaks Challenge in June in aid of Macmillan.






Saturday 17th of November saw the Welsh Corgi Club being held at the Flash, Corgi's and there owners came from all over Wales to take part in the competition.


The Flash Leiusre Centre was the Headquarters for the recent Breidden Road Rally on Oct 6th / 7th 2007
This rally was voted best event in Wales for 2006, and therefore attracted a capacity entry of 200 competitors, ensuring the Flash was kept busy throughout the night, serving meals etc prior to the competition getting underway at midnight.
The Flash main hall was used for pre-event formalities, also the leading cars were parked under cover in the hall, giving a very professional gloss on the proceedings.
Over 250 people gathered in the main hall for the drivers briefing prior to the crews leaving the car park to compete on the 130 mile route throughout the lanes and tracks of Montgomeryshire.
Early morning saw competitors returning to the Flash for a well earned breakfast ( which was subsequently voted the best tasted on any rally in 2007 ! ) prior to prize giving at around 07.30am.
