Each of the Centres is free to householders to dispose of bulky and hazardous household waste and recyclable rubbish, however there is a charge for the disposal of asbestos and construction and demolition waste.
The materials accepted at each of the Centres will be recycled, composted and/or reused where possible. The Council has set a requirement for a minimum of 60% of all waste accepted at the Centre to be recycled. Every Centre consistently complies with the requirement and exceeds it more often than not.
Please note that the Household Waste and Recycling Centres are for the use of Powys residents for the collection of household recycling and waste only.
Traders currently registered with Powys County Council can also register for a trade waste permit which allows you to take recyclable materials to some of the Waste and Recycling Centres for a fee of £100 per annum.
Double-axled trailers are not permitted at the Household Waste and Recycling Centres unless previously arranged with the site operator.
Proof of Powys residence will be required and the site operator has the discretion to turn away waste that is suspected to have arisen from commercial activities.
