The main activities of the Service are burial bookings, maintaining accurate grave and burial records, processing memorial applications and issuing deeds for exclusive rights to burial.
When a person dies in the county of Powys and there are no suitable arrangements in place and no known relatives or friends are able to make the necessary funeral arrangements we have a statutory duty under the Public Health Act 1984 to make those arrangements.
