Supervision and Appraisal (Care Managers) Training

Aim

The aim of this course is to explain what is meant by supervision and appraisal in relation to both legislative requirements and best practice. The course will be delivered in a fun and informative manner designed to provide knowledge and improve practice. We believe that our training should be the enabling factor to empower delegates to develop new competencies and confidence to put these into practice in the workplace.

  • Explain why effective supervision and appraisal is important
  • List the benefits of effective supervision
  • Evaluate models for staff supervision and appraisal, i.e. educative, supportive, managerial, reflective etc
  • Develop supervision and appraisal processes
  • Identify outcomes – defining these and setting objectives
  • Practice managing difficulties
  • Identify the importance of recording and confidentiality presentation.
  • Practice models of giving feedback
  • Undertake personal action planning.
