The Starfish Swim Scheme is the county’s award-winning ‘learn to swim’ scheme that won the A.S.A National Local Authority Swim Scheme of the Year Award when it was set up in 2006. Since then it has grown to include over 5,600 members.
Lessons take place after school and on Saturday mornings.
Most courses are between 11 and 14 weeks long and run alongside the school term.
On first joining the Scheme, each child will receive a canvas bag, other goodies and a swim pass to use during public swimming sessions (but not fun sessions) to encourage your child to swim.
To find out about Starfish swimming, ask at your local leisure centre.
In 2003 we became a part of the A.S.A National Swim Plan.
We are currently working towards Swim Wales‘s Dragon Mark and the ASA Aqua mark accreditation which is an award for best value service.
