School cashless system

Powys County Council are introducing cashless payment systems in all of it’s Secondary, Primary and Special Schools for payment of school meals, trips, uniform  and other payments made to schools by parents / carers.

This is an easy and convenient method of payment.  The benefits include:

  • Top up your child’s account at a time to suit you
  • View balance online
  • See what your child has eaten
  • No need to find cash
  • Reduced queuing time in schools for pupils

The project commenced in March 2016 with a successful pilot undertaken in schools in the Crickhowell catchment area.  From July 2016 to February 2017 all Secondary schools were implemented.

To date the project has been very successful with benefits being an increase in the take up of Free and Paid School Meals, reduction in queuing times for pupils and more convenient method of payment for parents and carers.

Rollout is currently taking place in all Primary and Special schools throughout the County on a catchment basis.

The online cashless provider is ParentPay Ltd., there are two choices for topping up:

  1. Online at www.parentpay.com (to initially set up your child’s account you will need your activation letter which your school will provide, this has your username and password)
  2. Using a paypoint card in local stores / shops. To find your nearest paypoint outlet click on:  www.paypoint.com (you will need to order your card from your school)
