Local development plan

The Council has submitted the LDP to Welsh Government to begin the Examination process. The Ministers of the Welsh Government have appointed Mrs Nicola Gulley MA MRTPI as the Planning Inspector to conduct the independent Examination to assess the soundness of the LDP. The Powys LDP covers all of Powys except for those parts of the county located within the Brecon Beacons National Park. It plans up to 2026 and sets out the Council's strategy for the sustainable development of the area.

The LDP is currently being scrutinised by the appointed independent Planning Inspector through an Examination in Public. As part of the Examination, hearing sessions were held by the Planning Inspector between March and July 2017. Consultation on Schedule of Matters Arising Changes

All the changes arising from the hearings have been collated and published for public consultation as proposed Matters Arising Changes (MACs) to the LDP.

A six week period of public consultation on the MACs ran from Tuesday 19th September 2017 to Monday 30th October (5pm). Details of the consultation including the consultation documents are provided on: http://www.powys.gov.uk/en/planning-building-control/local-development-plan/ldp-stages/

All comments made on the Matters Arising Changes will be forwarded to the Planning Inspector for consideration who will also decide whether further hearing sessions are necessary; provisional dates have been reserved for second week of January 2018.
