There's something for all ages at Powys Libraries!

  1. CHILD DETAILS (1)

  2. CHILD DETAILS (2)

  3. CHILD DETAILS (3)

  4. PARENT DETAILS

A parent or guardian needs to fill in the application for anyone under the age of 14.

We will email you when the card is ready for collection. You can collect the card from any library in Powys - click here to view branch locations. As parent/guardian, you must collect the card in person, and show us two forms of identification such as

  • drivers licence
  • utility bill
  • bank statement or building society book
  • pension book
  • Council Tax statement

Children under 16 can only use our public internet computers with their parents’ consent. If you would like them to use this service, you will need to sign a parental consent form. You can get a form from the library counter and fill it in when you come in to collect your child’s card. Your child will be given an Internet Club card which they must show every time they use a computer, along with their library card.

Babies and Toddlers

Your library has a range of books – in English and Welsh – that babies and toddlers will enjoy:

·         board books

·         picture books

·         pop up and lift the flap books

·         nursery rhyme books

·         alphabet and counting books

·         books on colour, shape and pattern

·         story books.

Some libraries have stories on tapes or CD, and DVDs to borrow.  There are also books about childcare and parenting skills available to borrow.

Powys libraries and health visitors are working together through Bookstart, to promote the message that ‘books are fun!’ for you and your baby.

Internet Club

If you are under 16 and would like to use the public computers in Powys branch libraries then you would need to join our Internet Club. Just fill out an application form which you can get from your local library, and get a parent or guardian to sign it.  By doing this you are agreeing to comply to the acceptable use policy which is designed to protect you and the library community.

That's all there is to it! Why not sign up and get exploring?
