Housing Policies

Housing Policies set out which rights and obligations Council tenants, other service users and the Council have.

If you are a Council tenant or leaseholder and would like to have your say about policies, please become a member of the Housing Services Group 100.

Wood Encouragement Policy

As part of the Home Grown Homes Partnership in Powys, the Wood Encouragement Policy has been developed to build better, more energy efficient houses, support the local forestry industry and to create jobs.

The Powys Wood Encouragement Policy sets out that all new council housing projects will look to use wood as the preferred material for both construction and fit-out purposes. This pioneering approach is the first of its kind in the UK. Download the policy here
