Email block lifted – Thursday May 18
The precautionary block on external emails to @powys.gov.uk addresses has now been lifted and people outside the network are now able to contact the council via email once more.
The lockdown was introduced by the council’s email supplier NHS Wales Informatics Service (NWIS) as a precautionary measure following last week’s international cyber attack.
In addition, applications for postal votes sent in by email were affected but can now be made again prior to the closing date for applications (May 23). The council had created a special form during the block to allow people to apply for postal votes online.
Some people find voting by post easier than going to the Polling Station. You can register to vote by post for a specific election or for all elections.
Postal voting application forms must reach the Elections Office by 5 p.m. 11 working days before Polling Day.
**Should you no longer need to vote by post please contact the office advising us of your full name, address and date of birth so we are able to confirm your identity.
