Rights of way improvement plan

The council adopted the Rights of Way Improvement Plan on 25 October 2007. The Plan was required by the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000, and took two years – of consultations, workshops, assessments and meetings – to produce, and involved comments from over 1,700 people.

The Rights of Way Improvement Plan sets out how the council will plan and prioritise improvements to the current access available in the county, and will also help other groups in Powys to improve access to the countryside. The ambitious Plan sets out the priorities and objectives of future work.

The Plan was officially launched by Jane Davidson AM, the Minister for Environment, Sustainability and Housing in December 2007.
