Home care services have changed a lot in recent times but typically today they focus on helping people with daily living tasks and with personal care.
Carers tend to visit at particular times of the day and carry out specified tasks which have been identified in advance and recorded in a care plan.
Following changes to those providing domiciliary care, a review of the service revealed the impact the changes had on some service users and we pledged to carry out an independent review. We commissioned the Institute of Public Care (IPC) to carry out this work.
A number of face to face/telephone meetings and conversations have already been undertaken by IPC with service users, families, carers and advocacies to understand what services people would like, what could be improved and what didn’t work well in the past.
Please take part in our survey and tell us what kind of home care service you would like to see in Powys in the future. Information gathered from the online survey will support the conversations and meetings that have already taken place.
