“The council has to produce a balanced budget. This is an opportunity for residents to see the challenges we face and show their support for service areas by allocating money to one area balanced with a reduction from another."
Powys County Council has to produce a balanced budget by law and is currently having to find savings of £22m over the next three financial years to achieve this.
Members of the Cabinet and Full Council will discuss and agree the final budget in early 2017 for the financial year 2017/2018.
As a resident and council tax payer we’d like your views on how best we achieve the savings needed. By using our budget simulator you can take over the purse strings and determine where savings are made and whether to increase council tax to counter potential service cuts.
The simulator is open until Sunday 15 January 2017.
