Following a decision by the Welsh Government to reform the way in which social services are reviewed and inspected, all local authorities in Wales are now subject to a new inspection regime known as the Annual Council Reporting Framework (ACRF).
The Statutory Director of Social Services is responsible for this new programme of work which includes reporting annually to the Council on the delivery, performance and risks as well as plans for improvement on the full range of social services functions.
A report is produced every year called 'Annual Overview Report of the Statutory Director of Social Services', along with supporting documents. The purpose of this report is to present a recognisable picture of the services provided and delivered by social services. It outlines what we have achieved in the last 12 months and highlights our priorities and improvement actions for the future.
The Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW) will review the report and analyse the evidence underpinning it before deciding the inspection and review plan for the council in the year ahead. We will continue to work closely with the Inspectorate to support our continuous improvement across social services
Your opinions are important to us and we would welcome your feedback on how accurate you think the report is and whether you feel it has captured the essence of social services in Powys.
