Kaleidoscope provides help and support for adults living in Powys dealing with alcohol and drug abuse .

CAIS provides information and advice for young people living in Powys, for alcohol and drug support.

Our aim is to reduce alcohol and drug dependency across Powys, and to encourage people, with support, to lead healthier more fulfilled lives.



What we can offer

We provide individualised care, offering the level of support each person needs.

This could be:

  • advice
  • advocacy
  • counselling/therapeutic support using a variety of approaches
  • ‘tier 2’ services, such as needle exchange, acupuncture, and access to diversionary activities
  • Kaleidoscope have recently introduced take-home naloxone

There are Dual Diagnosis workers in the Community Mental Health Teams who support people who have problems with drug and/or alcohol use and a severe and/or enduring mental illness

How do I get help?

You can refer yourself or ask a doctor or social worker to refer you. All referrals are kept confidential.

Citizens Advice advisers are located in each of the treatment centres on a regular basis and are available for clients to drop -in or make appointments. For family and friends - Citizens Advice Powys can provide advice to anyone on a wide range of issues including debt, benefits, housing, employment and relationships.

The Wallich - supports homeless people and those living in temporary accommodation and with substance misuse issues across Powys, helping to ensure that they can find suitable and sustainable accommodation.

Samaritans - committed to reaching as many people as possible who may be struggling to cope in Wales
