If you have a 'My Powys Account' you can register for online services and alerts such as council tax balance and payment and school closures. This will NOT log you into library services, the planning system or the Trent staff system.

  • If you already have a My Powys Account, login with your email address and password.

  • If you don't have a My Powys Account, select 'No, help me log in' and follow the instructions.

    * You can create a secure password, or decide to log in using your Gmail, Yahoo or Hotmail account.

Afterwards, we'll ask you for some contact details, and we'll ask you a few questions about yourself.  This is so we can check that it is you if you forget your password or need help with your account.

You will have 48 hours to verify your email address and mobile phone number so make sure that:

  • You can get to your your e-mail account so that you can get the code we'll send you to verify your email. 
  • You have your mobile phone handy, so you can get the different code we'll send to verify your phone. 

* We will send you different verification codes to your e-mail address and to your mobile.  Please be sure to enter the right one.

The system sends you different codes to your e-mail address and your mobile phone so that we can verify your e-mail address and your mobile number independently.

When first registering, you need to enter the Verification Code sent to your e-mail address first, then you will be able to log in. 

Once you have logged in, you will see a message under the black bar at the top of the My Services screen stating that 'Your Mobile Number is awaiting verification'. Click the verify link next to this message and then enter the Verification Code sent to your mobile phone.

You will not need to do this again unless you change your mobile number.

You'll have to register again if you did not verify your account in time.

If you fail to enter the Verification Code before the date / time in the e-mail which contained your code, your account is deleted. We do this to prevent unverified accounts from ever being used.

You have 48 hours to verify your e-mail address before your account is removed.

We ask you to provide answers to 4 of the Security Questions only to give you with the ability to reset your password, should you forget it. The information you provide will not be used for any other means and is stored encrypted in our system.

The questions have been carefully selected to avoid ones where the answers might be easily available to others.

You don't actually need to provide truthful answers to them, but you will need to remember what answers you provided.

Web-based applications need to be secure to withstand potential attacks from malicious users, both real and automated. Given that we will be providing financial services via this facility, we must insist on a secure password.

We verify your mobile number to make sure you can receive text messages from us. We will also be introducing a number which will allow you to control certain aspects of your account by sending a text message from your phone, e.g. allowing you to opt out of alerts etc.

Only by verifying your number we can be sure that such messages will come from your mobile.
